With over five  decades of experience in the roofing and construction industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table as a seasoned professional. Throughout my career, I have served in a dual capacity as both a Roofing Contractor and an Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). While employed by the Miami-Dade County Building Department, I had responsibility for inspections, plan review, approval, and enforcement for all types of roofing and building projects regulated by the Florida Building Code (FBC).

My extensive experience in the construction industry has primarily been in Miami-Dade (MDC) and Broward Counties, which are defined as the High Velocity Hurricane Zones (HVHZ) by the Florida Building Code (FBC). The HVHZ is universally recognized as one of the toughest building codes in the USA.

I was employed by the Building Division of the Regulation and Economic Resources (RER) Department of MDC for 27 years, until my retirement in August 2020. While employed by MDC, I helped develop and maintain the Building Division's ePermitting System for Contractors, which has been in use since 2004. This custom permitting application system allows properly licensed contractors to obtain residential roofing and select building permits online and has continually been updated with the latest enhancements and code changes to the Florida Building Code in each three-year code cycle since 2004.

Finally, I should note my participation in local, regional, and national efforts to improve, simplify, and standardize the installation of rooftop Photovoltaic (PV) systems.

I am currently leveraging my construction and building code experience to aid all clients in navigating and solving any High Velocity Hurricane and Florida Building Code issues they may encounter.
